Hello World

Miklpics is a website that displays photos taken within the Mallee Region in the State of Victoria. This area is some 370 Kms North West of Melbourne – Australia and most of the images were taken within a 50 Km radius of the City of Swan Hill. In this region the Murray River provides the water necessary to sustain the towns and various agricultural/horticultural farms along its banks.There are several other smaller rivers/creeks and numerous lakes most of which dry out between floods. The greater area is largely an arid zone that is dedicated to dry land farming. This includes grain production (wheat/barley/canola etc.) and grazing (sheep/cattle etc.). As such there is a diversity of wildlife that has adapted to this location. I have endeavoured to where possible capture close up images of them. Also included are images of the local Environment & Infrastructure etc. along with a few of a general nature from outside the area. I am not a professional photographer and most of the images were taken with a Nikon Coolpix P900 Superzoom camera. Many of these images have been cropped or modified to get the image I want.
